Jisc Collections guide
Jisc provides UK Further Education (UK FE) a digital content offer which forms a core part of a compelling subscription membership offer, that aims to provide good quality content which supports GCSE Maths and English, and academic and vocational routes for learners. Make the most of your Jisc membership by subscribing to services on Jisc Collections. To be able to subscribe to e-books for FE you need a Jisc Collections account.
What is Jisc Collections?
Jisc Collections is the negotiation and licensing service of Jisc that supports the licensing of digital content. The service is part of the Jisc Subscription to our FE Members. All UK publicly funded FE colleges are eligible to subscribe to the agreements we have negotiated, some of which are free at point of use. Jisc Collections provides a catalogue of the subscription products and services that Jisc broker to enable Jisc members to be able to get the best deals for quality services. For more information see the Jisc Collections for FE page.
Shopping on Jisc Collections
Jisc Collections navigates like an e-commerce website; you can browse and filter to find what you want, then add it to your basket to purchase. For a guide to how to make a purchase see the beginners guide to transactional website.
Cost of Jisc Collections
Organisations that are Jisc members will already be set up with a login from your account manager for free. Once the account is set up each subscription service has its own pricing that aligns with your banding. However some catalogue items are free, and are easy to find with the ‘Only free resources‘ filter.
Updating a Jisc Collections account
To manage your account, update your details and see your subscriptions see the ‘‘My Account’ area. Contact your Jisc Collections account owner if you need to be added as a user for your membership, the My Account area tabs can vary depending on your allocated user level set by the account owner.
